ECG Treadmill Test (TMT)
ECG Treadmill Test (TMT)
An ECG Treadmill Test (TMT) is a safe, non-invasive stress test that records your heart's electrical activity while you exercise on a treadmill. This test shows how well your heart responds to physical exertion.
Why is a TMT done?
- Detects reduced blood flow to the heart (Ischemia)
- Assesses risk of coronary artery disease (CAD)
- Monitors heart function post-surgery or stenting
- Evaluates symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath
How does it work?
During the test, your heart rate, blood pressure, and ECG are continuously monitored while you walk on a treadmill that gradually increases in speed and incline.
